Getting married at City Hall takes two county appointments and about forty small decisions. Here's how we make it simple.
1. Check your date. Thirty seconds, the form below. I'll confirm availability the same day.
2. One 15-minute call. We book your marriage license appointment and your ceremony slot together, screen to screen, before we hang up. The paperwork stops being scary weeks before your wedding.
3. Show up in love. I run the timeline, the quiet corners, the light, the after-City-Hall route. You get married. Your sneak peek lands before midnight.
Honestly the best experience. From start to finish Joel communicated with me promptly and made sure we were happy and comfortable with everything. I’m already obsessed! 😍

Let’s Make It Simple. Let’s Make It You.
If you’re dreaming of a City Hall wedding that feels intimate, easy, and unforgettable, you're in the right place.
I’ll help you slow down, soak it in, and walk away with photos that feel like a memory you can hold in your hands.
You might walk in thinking you’re awkward in front of a camera and you don’t know how to pose, but I’ll guide you both with action prompts that remove the stiffness and create those natural photos so real and effortless, the fear of awkwardness fades completely.
FAQs
When can you get married there?
Civil ceremonies run Monday to Friday only, every half hour from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Friday slots go first. Want the Mayor’s Balcony or a Fourth Floor Gallery to yourselves? Those one-hour weddings book at least 4 weeks ahead, weekdays 9am to 3pm. Plan on a weekday wedding either way.
A few final things to know.
City Hall ceremonies are intentionally intimate, only 6 guests total are allowed, and that includes your photography and video team.
If you’re planning to invite a larger group, you can always book a private ceremony to accommodate more of your people.
Also, don’t forget to check in at the Clerk’s Office at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time to keep things running smoothly.
That’s the heart of it, all the essentials for planning your San Francisco City Hall elopement or wedding!
If this feels like the kind of day you’re dreaming of, I’d be honored to document it for you.

The ceremonies are very short and not personalized.
typically around 15 minutes. It’s all about efficiency.
If you’re dreaming of exchanging personal vows, consider sharing them privately beforehand. There are so many beautiful, tucked-away spots in and around City Hall where you can make that moment truly your own.
How much does it cost?
The marriage license is $129 and the civil ceremony is $113 (county fees, updated July 1, 2026). Want the building more private? A one-hour wedding on the Mayor’s Balcony or Fourth Floor runs $1,200, books at least 4 weeks out, and holds up to 100 guests. I’ll help you reserve it.
What to expect at a San Francisco City Hall elopement?
The county ceremony takes about 3 minutes, and the building does the rest. I’m ordained, so if you’d rather skip the county line entirely, I can perform a private ceremony, sign your license, and file it right there. I can be your witness too. Bring six guests or bring no one.
Booking your Ceremony.
You’ll reserve your ceremony time online in advance, and popular slots go fast. Every couple who books me gets my private City Hall Guide: every link, every form, every deadline, in one place.
Before you can say “I do,” you’ll need your marriage license. One thing most couples miss: the county does not issue licenses on the same day as your ceremony, so the license appointment happens on an earlier day. It’s valid for 90 days. On our kickoff call we book both appointments together, so the sequencing is never your problem.
What to bring for your marriage license appointment:
Valid photo ID for both of you
A completed marriage license application (public or confidential)
Proof of divorce if either of you were previously married
Bring for the civil ceremony:
Valid photo identification for each person
A valid, unexpired California County marriage license.
One witness if you are presenting a public marriage license. ( I can be your witness)
No witness is required if presenting a confidential marriage license.
Simple, right? Once that’s taken care of, you’ll be all set to make it official!
